Attracted to the emerging church

Category: By Roger Saner
Yes, the "emerging church" is a buzzword, and yes, there are people going around talking about how horrible it is, yet it remains a hopeful place for those people trying to imagine a Christianity which can creatively take us forward. Graeme Codrington has posted an article by David Lock, a small-town Baptist church pastor in South Africa, who writes about why he's excited about so much going on with the emerging church. It is definitely worth a read. The article was originally published in the Baptist Today, South Africa, second quarter 2008.

    Rog Rog,
so reading your guys' blogs today makes it that much harder to still be in the States. I loved that article because it felt like a modernistic thinker trying to bridge gaps towards the postmodern world. I think from a postmodern perspective, we ought to speak back to our own culture and suggest that we not need to be so rediculous in how we project ourselves. I feel like a lot of times, we use harsh phrases to capture the attention of our readers at the cost of actually being heard for what we're trying to say.

Perhaps if we spoke more intelligently/less cynical this article and others from the modernistic worldview wouldn't be necessary???

Something to say?
